Far be it for me to underestimate the value of
suggestions. Merely stating that this is a leverage
technique. Even bending the knees makes no odds, as
the effort is still expended in the correct direction,
whereas pushing on the elbows sends it somewhere else.

Not everything he does is suggestion, you know. In the
same way the the 'photo reading' effect isn't photo
reading. That's not to say that photo reading isn't
possible, (again, who am i...), but that wasn't how it
was done.

>is it? Its just simple physics.

Don't underestimate the power of suggestion.

If you have just asked yourself "why? what do you
(think you) know?" or

something similar, then re-read the previous line
again. Is it a

suggestion that you have just gone along with, or is
it a blatant

instruction that you have just obeyed? And more
scary, is there a

difference? And how many times a day can you
catch yourself doing just

this kind of thing to others? Trust me, YOU
DO!

However, in this case, simply bending your knees is
far more efficient

(effort vs. result).

On the other hand, I have seen experienced martial
artists, who can achieve

this and similar effects with quite awe inspiring
results - something that

goes way beyond bending your knees.
