Don't underestimate the power of suggestion.
If you have just asked yourself "why? what do you (think you) know?" or
something similar, then re-read the previous line again. Is it a
suggestion that you have just gone along with, or is it a blatant
instruction that you have just obeyed? And more scary, is there a
difference? And how many times a day can you catch yourself doing just
this kind of thing to others? Trust me, YOU DO!
However, in this case, simply bending your knees is far more efficient
(effort vs. result).
On the other hand, I have seen experienced martial artists, who can achieve
this and similar effects with quite awe inspiring results - something that
goes way beyond bending your knees.
