Wow!!! that first post has caused quite a
stir.

I honestly feel that i am not looking too closely
at what Derren says. In fact, we may not be looking
closely enough.

It is a truth that many of
Derren's 'waking hypnosis' tricks are available from books
that you can buy from amazon.

It is Derren's
subtle use of pauses, stutters, tones and language,
which make him quite unique. (Otherwise, i would not be
on this board.)

We could debate all day on
whether or not he uses NLP. I think that he does choose
his words and tones carefully (call it what you
like).

'Hypnosis', 'NLP' and 'Mentalism' are all terms, in my
opinion that are over used, and to some capacity ill
defined. Please don't disagree. There are so many message
boards that are cluttered up with such discussions !!!.
I admit that I could be wrong!! Otherwise we will
go round in circles, till we agree to disagree, or
just simply disagree.

Now, regarding the point
that I highlighted in the first post, I think it was
used by Derren for a reason.
I think there is
little doubt in that. Now possibly that is what we
should be looking at.

NLP to some extent formed
as an analysis of Milton's voice and tones. Is it
not true that babies incapable of dialog. Respond to
the tones and language that is used by their parents.

If there was little depth to what Derren does. Every
magician would be doing it. And Derren's would not have
the reputation that he does.

Anyway, i did not
mean to cause such a reaction, and I must apologise.

Cheers,
Gordon

P.S.

So what was the point of the
superman 'experiments'?
