Yes. And if you read the book 'Hannibal', you will see that he has
also robbed his memory trick as well. Lector uses an Italian
(Florentine?) mansion filled with rooms with objects as a means to
recall tiny details at will. Derren claims the same feat when he
explains how he follows multiple card decks, and the demonstration in
Mind Control is really lovely, exactly as I imagined Lector (or Dr.
Fell, as it were) doing it.

I didn't know Lector was an idol of his as such, but he has
cultivated many other of his mannerisms, too numerous to go into here
(read the books, if you haven't, you won't get them all from the
films).
