The method you describe is a very ancient memory system which
was said to have been invented in Roman times, thus is called
the 'Roman Room' system. It's described well in Tony Buzan's
book 'Use Your Memory'.
During the last Chat session (Message #2736) with DB, I asked what
he thought of Buzan's books, but he hadn't read any of them.
However, I'm sure most Magicians are well versed in this technique.
I also asked DB what his favourite holiday destination was and he
replied Florence, though he hasn't yet been there.....now THAT'S a
more obvious link with the world of Dr Lecter ;-)
