Yes, cant remember where I read it but apparently Derren is
fascinated by Anthony Hopkins face. I think Derrens face recognition
and analysis part of his brain is probably much more advanced and
perceptive than the ordinary person. This of course is probably due
to the years he has spent 'people watching' for non-verbal behaviour.
Anyway I think he sees something in Anthony Hopkins that a lot of us
dont see and I'd say he really wanted to be Hannibal Lector after
watching Silence of the Lambs (all the psychological things of course
not the cannibalism!)
p.s. The portraits that Derren does (official site) are testament to
his face reading ability and The Hopkins one is brilliant I think.
