Surely as a performing 'mentalist', you know how people
respond to a good performance. Again some people may find
that above statement, somewhat patronising.
I
have (as i am sure many others) spent time during my
research on some of the closed 'magic' message boards, but
all you seem to get are people giving you links to
'number games' (e.g 2-3 = -1) or other such drivel
discussed to the nth level. I am sorry but my interest is
not really in 'mentalism' and I have done number
games and 'think of a carrot' games at school.
It is strange that in the 'hypnosis' based areas of
entertainment, hypnotists will give you instructions and tips
without the need for a user name and password. People
will still watch it, and be entertained. Derren
himself, did start as a 'hypnotist', and we have not seen
much of Paul Daniels lately.
It is in the
quality of the performance, i know how to play football,
but it does not stop me going to the
games.
Most people here, are not to bothered about sussing
out how you guessed that planet. As you hopefully
noticed.
If i was bothered about that i would be
on the 'Annemann' fan club, and buying $20
blackboards and tiny red sponge balls.
I personally
would not like to be used as a barometer of the
'mentalist' profession, or even Derren's work. I am also sure
that that is not the reason this board was
created.
There are many people on this board who, i am familiar
with, and who are very well read entirely qualified in
their views and opinions. Albeit they may not be "real
world mentalists".
It is one of the most
refreshing things about this board, that someone, within
probably the next 10 or so posts. Will most definitely
post something in detail and also entertaining,
relating to the now very mystical world of 'book tests'
!!! .
And i am sure, that the only thing
limiting the appropriateness of this board, is that the
attitude of the posters. Which in general is
excellent.
It is a truth that most people want to gain from any
experience and research they do. And can only succeed in
being disappointed when they see a 'magician's only'
area requesting a user name and a password.
"I
will share, what I have, for what it is worth." A nice
motto, I think.
