Subject: Photoreading & A good rant !!

Photoreading, to a certain extent, in its 'true'
form, is most definately a skill, that through time can
be learned.

The actual definition of
photoreading, is once again quite ill-defined. To say that it
does not exist is wrong (There is documented evidence
of people who have that ability). Some universities
even attempt to teach it. In fact it is probably the
only decent chapter in Bunzan's book. It even boasts
some jazzy words like "Photo-Focus" !!! A.K.A. sore
head inducer !!!.

A page a second is quite
ambitious, and what people, also seem to have is the belief
that photo-reading is coupled with photo-memory. I
have never seen that stated anywhere
!!!

Memorising a dictionary, is as far as i am aware impossible,
and another example of a "mentalist"
trick.

"Do you 'believe' in hypnosis?"
Bandler and
Grinder can't agree on whether they 'believe' in
hypnosis, and does it actually matter. Or does 'magic'
exist?.

Two prime examples of 'round-in-circles'
questions.

My previous question regarding the
'mentalists' was deliberately subjective. Which Resulted in
polarised answers. Yes i am sure that the mind magic
conventions are littered with 'mentalists' whom i have never
seen perform.

Having been quite a good runner,
probably one of the best(top 30),in the UK for my selected
distance.

The people who you remember, yet still
struggle to remember are in the 'top five runners' in the
UK, and also make regular athletic TV appearances.
The reason you are more likely to know their names is
simply due to the fact that they are 'better' than
myself, to which i have no doubts.

i would like
to thank "on_a_quackhandle" regarding his agreement
relating to the number of quality 'mentalists.

i
would strongly disagree about his few that the term
'book test' should not be included in this group.

I makes me wonder, your motivation for actively
participating on the boards, yet holding things back. It seems
almost offensive to the other members on the boards. The
reason the board has become so Interesting, is that
people have been 'sharing' information and producing
positive conclusions. The "I know, but they don't " stance
is quite tiring, and certainly does not encourage
people to post. It may well be the ruining of this
message board.

It is better to feel part of a
team, than to feel that every post made is subject to
quiet scrutiny and judgement. In the very early days of
this board, it was agreed that egos would be left
behind, and that 'professionals' would contribute
constructively.

As practising mentalists, you have the
opportunity to clear things up, that some of the people who
merely have a background in NLP, cannot. I will honestly
and sincerely appreciate any posts that are
made.

Cheers, and please don't take offence.
