Subject: reminiscence

Hi
anyone with the first edition care to explain this effect?
and/or lift?
i'm a neuroscience student (study how manipulation of neurochemistry
alters neural functioning using an fMRI scanner)with an interest in
psychology. i enjoy Derrens effects hugely and understand that
stooges and other standard tools of magic are a prerequisite for some
(not all) of derrens effects but i am still interested in learning
about the succeptibility of the mind to manipulation and suggestion
through hypnotic techniques etc...
hope someone can help re: the performance of reminiscence or has some
advice on sources of reading material (i am planning to get some of
kenton knepper's books and tapes and banachek's psychological
subtleties) does anyone know anything about non-verbal hypnotic
induction techniques? it is only recently that consciousness research
has again become accepted by science (behaviouralism has ruled for a
fair while). as we learn more about how fragile our perceptions
really are, i believe that some of the knowledge of magicians may aid
in research.or at least as tools to demonstrate the principles!
thanks
Owen
