Subject: Does this clear anything up?

In a recent post a chap has said that he sees the point of this
forum is to allow 'us to improve as magicians'. But if this is a
public site and only a certain percentage of us are magicians here,
is that at all the case? Is it not the point of discussion boards on
magic websites (that seem to have many threads about Derren)to do
this? Might this be a worrying presumption?

I'm not criticising, really just trying to understand. It's
obviously healthy to have all sorts of people contributing, but do
magicians think of this as essentially a magic site now? It isn't,
is it?

I imagine that most magicians here would be discreet about exposure
and would respect the fact that this is a public site, if I
understand the site correctly (which I may not). Am I worrying
needlessly?

This talk of members only and so on, which would be appropriate if
it were a magic site perhaps, suggets that there seems to be a real
presumption that it has moved away from it's roots as a fan site for
viewers.

It would be nice to be clear on this, after all we're all supposed
to be fans of Derren, or maybe I'm over-reacting with an old-
fashioned view on exposure.

Thanks again,
Mark Fischer
