Subject: Hi Guys
Just a quick note. I've been a member for a couple of weeks and
have been reading the posts just to get a feel of things. I thought
I'd introduce myself, just so you know where I'm coming from. I'm a
Close-up magicican, I also do a paranormal act - spoon bending,
pseudo-mind-reading etc. Visit www.derekheron.com for more info. I
also did hypnosis for several years and still practice it
occaisionally to help people. I met Derren Brown last Feb. at a
major magic convention in Blackpool. He's a really nice guy and
dead easy to talk to. It's kinda like talking to a shrink though.
You don't know if he's analysing you or not. After a while though
you just relax and chat. So that's it realy. Er...on the Carotid
thing. Tread VERY CAREFULLY guy's. Striking the carotid is a way
of inducing a hypnotic state but it shouldn'yt be used lightly, if
at all!!! Also don't play with hypnosis unless you really know what
you are doing. I don't wish to sound like a stick in the mud but
I've had to undo a few screw-ups and it's not pleasant. I'll finish
on a positive note though. I've loved the posts, you guys are so
sharp when you are watching Derren. I would be very scared to show
you magic 8^)
