A true comment, but one I find very worrying. There are only a
handful of performers in the UK who have the ability to create an act
as convincing as Derren's. I have several names in mind, and it's
important to note that while they leave as big an impression as DB
does on their audiences, their acts are all individual and quite
different.
Having people dabble in mentalism for their own amusement, or in a
mistaken belief it will make their act stronger is an unfortunate
byproduct of having people like DB around. The last thing the world
needs is a bunch of half assed magicians camping it up trying to
convince people they can read their mind by watching the direction in
which their eyes move.
