Subject: Re: Using Derrens name to sell products??
Hi All
This is a really important and interesting thread!
Derren has opened up an opportunity for alot of established and
amateur magicians to retool there act from the pyschic or magic to
the pychological!
> That site is a disgusting example of the commercialisation of
magic.
However I think what is important to point out that Derren, has
developed the works of Kenton, Banachek, Salem, Rowland to do his
act.
Derrens performance skills are fantastic, and of course he does sell
his own products, and, uses other magicians to recommend his work!
>(At Least Derrens material) that would bamboozle the casually
curious searching for answers.
The thing is we are all guilty of this , how many threads are on
this list recommending, books etc which either provide an insight
into derrens work, or actually effect explinations (pure effect 1st
edition, anyone?)
The other more important point is, magicians will fail if they try
and take on Derrens Persona as if your doing mental magic routines
it will appear hokey and a copy cat, ie Chris Angel - David Blaine
Rip Off!!
On a personal note with regrds to my NLP Seminar,
I hope that some people in the group realise that I am trying to
provide a useful insight to NLP without the £500 price tag
I've been very clear about what u will learn, and this seminar,it
is not about becoming Derren,
It provides you with the NLP pyschological tools that master
persuaders use and will enable you to utilise skills such as Lie
detection, covert hypnosis etc
Its about
The NLP skills that master perrsuaders use, in every day situations.
The course will provide a greater understanding of persuasion, and
its uses in all walks of life
I hope that clears this up
