Subject: ghost punch
i seriously do not believe that the ghost punch
was done with waking hypnosis, as i do not believe
any stunt in the show is done with it. I believe it
was done with powerful suggestion, i do not know what
the name is for the technique, or even if there is a
name for it yet,but i will divulg my humble opinion on
how i believe it was achieved.
Firstly we see
the one inch punch, something which the martial arts
students watched keenly. This straight away put a feeling
of a man recieveing a blow (no puns please i can't
think of another way to phrase it!). NOw how many times
have you seen a documentary or similar program
containing maggots or something, and felt a sensation as
though they were around you yourself. people often say
'oh i felt that', when refering to someone elses
pain.
I then think derren plays on this thought and takes
it to a new level. He touches the man and says 'You
feel this?'....now although this was a question
remember the command 'you feel this' is there...sorta like
the black cat thing at the beginning of MC2 i think.
Then as he pulls away gradually he moves his hand
slightly as though containing an energy field. The order
of 'feeling this' is repeated again several times as
the distance gets larger. Finally the ghost punch
happens where the fiels collpases and goes through the
man.
To try this lets go for an experiment, place your
hands flat together now and feel an energy runing
between them. NOw gradually open them stopping at points
and feeling the energy. Now quickly collapse the
field and see what happens, if anything...just
something for the group to try :-)
