There are lots of books about NLP available from
amazon. I'm also new to NLP, but already it's "cured" my
massive phobia of spiders. And it only took around five
minutes to do.
I would also recommend Paul
McKenna's Acclerated Learning hypnotic video for exams. On
the first half you're given some techniques such as
Mind Mapping and mnemonics. The second half is an
hypnotic trance section to reinforce the
techniques.
Mind Mapping has been mentioned before and is a great
way of easily remembering facts for an exam. There
are lots of books available about it by Tony Buzan
(who invented it).
BTW, apparently Derren Brown
went on a mckenna-breen.com NLP course in 1997,
although it's not clear whether he actually uses NLP for
his shows.
Mentalist Rex Sikes of
http://idea-seminars.com/ and http://amazingrex.com/ uses NLP to
achieve
"mind reading" effects similar to Derren's. He also
sells a photo reading course.
