It's actually worse than that, according to Yahoo's terms of service (
http://uk.docs.yahoo.com/info/terms.html ) section 6 "Member Conduct":-
"You agree to not use the Service to: m. collect or store personal data
about other users"
which would include email addresses cultivated and ported over to a message
board.
I think someone else mentioned that earlier?

It doesn't seem reasonable to me to either close the group or make it
archive-only as this excludes all those who:
(a) don't like message boards
(b) don't have the capability (due to firewalls or whatever) to access
message boards
(c) want to carry on as before.
Certainly if Lauren doesn't care to run this mailing list any more I'm sure
any one of a number of people would step forward as take on the ownership
responsibilities? Otherwise people could always subscribe to an
alternative mailing list:
derren-subscribe@y...
to perform much the same function!
