One way ( but not the way the advertising agency trick was performed ) to do
"telepathic" drawings - get two people , one to 'transmit' , the other to
'receive' but don't specifically say who has to do what task ; plus two
large note/drawing pads - prepare these before-hand by making small
perforations across the top each of the two pages ( about two inches
down )that will be drawn upon in both pads ( this will allow the pages to be
torn out with relative ease ) . Above the perforations on each pad ; write
,for example ,'Transmit drawing of a dog " ( the instructions written also
beforehand without knowledge of the participants).
Neither of the two persons knows the other has the same instructions written
on their respective note-pads ; then ask them to transmit the image in
simple form ( without mentioning what the image is...or again any
designation of who is meant to be transmitting/receiving ). Ask them both to
concentrate very hard on the image to be transmitted then draw it. When both
have finished , tear out the drawings below the perforations from each note
pad...the written instructions are left in the pads - the drawings shown to
the participants. ....At face value it may seem a disappointing trick to
know how to do , but get past the 'props' , and what makes the trick work is
psychological deception.
Okay , some in this group may be very disappointed if , as has been
suggested , some of DB
TV tricks are 'set-ups' - you can take DB out of magicianship , but you
can't take the magicianship out of DB! He is not 'psychic' & has never
claimed to be . Its the 'effect' that matters - that we may have in some
cases got close to how DB does stuff shouldn't cause disappointment if as we
should all have known at the outset , these had nothing to do with
'paranormal' or 'supernatural' abilities.

One thing that is really peeing me off about this group is the number of
>people who say:
>
>"oh i know how x, y or z was done, but i'm not telling you because i'm not
>supposed to/i'm a magician/i'm a twerp"

>Frankly if you know how something was done but aren't prepared to pony up
>the good and explain then you should shut up about it - and if you think
>someone is wrong with a theory, then explain WHY not just dismiss it.
