There has? I've been browsing this group for a while, and there has
been very little revealed (which can be confirmed, with evidence to
substantiate it) concerning Derren's tricks.
Sure, one or two people have had theories - but for 99% of his
tricks, the mystery still remains.
For those of you who are dissapointed that Derren uses a bit more
magic than you first thought - don't be. He uses many techniques to
create the effect he wants.
Instead of studying the tricks directly, take note of the way in
which he presents them (i.e the patter, his body language, gestures,
facial movements...etc...). It'll be a lot more rewarding to study
these, rather than trying to figure out the tricks themselves.
And why be dissapointed? I've always suspected Derren uses a lot
of 'standard' magic, although it's never hindered the enjoyment I've
gotten from watching the show.
Plenty of the mystery still remains - and if Derren does in fact to
be one big fraud, you'll have learnt to be less gullible in
future. ;o)
