Subject: What are we allowed to talk about...
...I must admit to being a little surprised that there hasn't been much
discussion of Pure Effect so far...I've only read the first fifty pages or so
after receiving it from that magic-shop website someone posted a link to (at 35
quid a bargain compared to the extortionate prices on EBAY) (thanks for the
link, btw) and there's a few words right at the start that (for me) put
everything Derren does into a new context - which I won't talk about in public
(but will do in private emails if you wish) until everyone here has read the
book.
I was actually expecting the book to be hard going, from what it said on his
website, but it's written in a great, friendly style, very chatty, very funny
(and not a little misogynistic) and there's only a couple of magic terms he
doesn't explain (which could've been included in a glossary, really) but which
you can find out the definition with a simple web search.
Get ahold of a copy, sod EBAY get it from elsewhere...highly recommended.
