Subject: Reminisce - What do we know, what do we think we know?
Reminisce has to be one of my favourite DB effects but there never
seems to be any discussion about its possible methods. Does anyone
on here have a first edition of Pure Effect and if so, how about
some pointers?
In my opinion it is a fantastic effect and one that I would love to
be able to do. I do get the feeling though that there is some
preshow work done and the strength of the routine lies in the fact
that we only see the final outcome.
I would place my bets on some preshow work along the lines of an
usher asking people in the foyer about a particularly strong memory
or some other method of drawing people in before the show starts.
Once you have a mark in mind its easy to get him up on stage and
take it from there. As Derren himself says in P.E. its all about
effect and the question of stooges concerns aesthetics not ethics.
If not something quite so blatant, then maybe some suggestion.
Either way I have the feeling that it is something very obvious and
simple just dressed in Derrens amazing presentation (Like his
reworking of the Georgia Magnet trick)
Anyone else have any ideas or theories?
