When you find you can confidently do the 'hand stuck to the table ' - progress
to an entertaining variation - ' the kiss stuck to the face'! A well known &
published hypnotherapist told me she had this stunt pulled on her by a stage
hypnotist friend - who proceeded to drag her around the party they were at for
10 minutes with her lips stuck his cheek ( ...his face, naturally...though
other possible variations are limited only by the imagination ). Getting back
to the 'hand stuck to the table' - improve your chances of success if you are
with several people by suggesting what it is you have in mind ( or their mind )
then checking the warmth of their hands prior to making your selection ( you
can make a bit of theatre out of this ). Some-one with cold hands is liable to
be indifferent to your suggestions , some-one with hot/sweaty hands liable to
be resistant , its some-one with warm hands who offers the best prospect to
being ready & amenable to accepting further suggestions ( this is courtesy of
the late Dave Elman's observations about 5 signs of hypnosis ). On the subject
of eye cues ; think they have very limited application in DB's work which
apart from hypnosis/suggestion , seems to rely more on observing bio-feedback &
ideo-motor responses ....though God only knows how he arrived at correctly
stating that guy had 3 terriers a couple of shows back!
