Can't wait until the DVD is out!
I can't wait to meet Derren actually in May. I'm making it my mission
to meet him in real life. I'll probably get a few photo's taken too,
and get him to sign my book! He's gonna think I'm a totally obsessed
freak if he meets me. (an not look like such a 'freak)... Heh, trying
to figure out some psychological routines that I'll try on him while
I'm there I start controlling his mind!!
I really wish he does that coin thing on me... I'm gonna act like
someone totally clueless then give him tiny little clues as to what
hand it isn't in! I've realised a pattern that Derren uses; he tells
people to "keep an absolute 'poker' face". This is so that he can
look for these tiny clues in people. Just about everyone he meets
does the same thing, they really try not to give anything away
visually.
Now imagine the opposite? If someone were to give everything away,
Derren possibly may get a little confused as to whether I'm just
dumb, or I'm trying to catch him out, or whatever else. Atleast when
people are not giving anything away, he knows their not. But if I act
like I'm not, but then I actually do... Then he won't know what to
do!! :)
I'm mastering the "coin in hand" routine. I'll give him those little
unconscious clues, which he looks for (and which I'll be conscious of
ofcourse), things like my nose subtly pointed at the wrong hand, and
my head titled a certain direction, or the amount of pressure on my
hand, etc...
HA, HA! And all this time, he'll just assume that I'm nervous or self-
conscious or whatever.
- See I've got it all figured out! And I'll take the £50 with pride,
and try and return it at the end of the show! OR I may buy him a
drink if I can... and then show him that I'm using his money which
should get a laugh.
