Subject: What's In A Name
I've been thinking about the significance of names in presentation of
oneself.
Now - I do applaud DB for sticking with his slightly cheesy name and
staying true to his self, etc. Curses though to parents who afflict
their offspring with something 'to be different' and believe me I
know. (actually that's probably why I was wound up by Chris Moyles so
much yesterday).
However, I do think that given a different name our friend would have
achieved fame more quickly and easily. I had never watched him before
last weekend because I envisaged a sub-Copperfield type in a spangly
suit - all because of that name.
I realise some of the po-faced will use this as an excuse to flame
me, but did anyone else think this too, before they saw him perform?
