Well It was it as part of the effect. A nice bit of cold reading. He
just made a small mention to vinyl and the man went away and grafted
his own reference on it.
He might have said.
"Yes I've got a huge record collection."
Or "I was playing some old tunes just before I came here. I don't
like CDs"

Judging by the guy's accent if you took every stereotype and bounced
them off of him some would stick.
His dad is working class.
His wife is a hairdresser called "Shazzer".
He drives a powerful car.
He owns 3 dogs!
He owns 1 but his mother own a dog and so does his best mate.

"Wow I don't know how he knew they had dogs."

I think getting the subject to go away and spend ages filling in the
blanks is great. Plus as they've thought of it, it feels more real.
Which makes you a better mind reader.

Do you not see what I'm not saying?
