Hey hey - Calm down all of you...
The idea behind showing the old stuff with the new is because not
everyone in the country knows who Derren Brown is despite the
excellent 3 TV Specials he did.
I thought it was surprising that everyone I asked hadn't heard of
Derren Brown and if they had - they had missed his previous shows. I
just made sure they they will all watch the show tonight (sent loads
of text messages!)
It is a good idea for Derren to show 6 episodes every week with the
new and old stuff, because I have got all my work mates and everyone
else I can think of to watch Derren Brown's New Series! I told them
about the subliminal thing with the Advertising guys, guess which
hand, no-pain etc...
Rather then trying to explain to your friends the stuff he did in his
TV Specials, they can watch it for the first time and be amazed!
From the episode today - I would surely get all of them hooked in
watching the rest of the series! Can't wait to go into work on Monday
to hear them all go "WOW - I'm glad I watched that show you kept
going on about, it was amazing... How on earth did Derren do this
trick" etc..
If you can think of new material to fill up all 6 episodes that
Derren had never done before then maybe you should make a show too :)
I don't have E4 so I missed my chance to see all 6 episodes back-to-
back but I am not disappointed at all with the series. But please
give the man credit - he's trying to make a name for himself and so
far he's doing a great job... expect all his Live Tour to be a
success and sell EVERY ticket :)
