Hi Mike
Best book I know of covering the subject of pain control ( using
Hypnosis )is "Hypnotherapy" by Dave Elman ,published by Westwood
Publishing Co. Dave Elman taught hypnotherapy exclusively to Doctors
& Dentists . Although very sceptical ( and downright nervous ) I
allowed , while hypnotised , a sterilised needle to be put in my hand
(by a fellow student during hypnotherapy Dip. training ).
The only sensation was of pressure. When the needle was removed, only
the mark remained. Out of hypnosis, I made a comparison - I tried to
put the same needle in my other hand at approx.same corresponding
place...It hurt & the puncture mark puckered! I would suggest you
exhaust all conventional medical avenues if you haven't done so
already for pain control as hypnosis for that purpose should really
only be used as either a 'stop gap' or when orthodox medical
treatment isn't working.
