Derren handled that pretty well. Good choice of tricks - very punchy
and direct. One misjudged quip ("Oh, grow up") but I think he
realised that as soon as he said it. I like the way the tricks look
on TV. "Think of a childhood memory and I'll tell you what it is"
or "Everyones going to look at this picture, shout it to you
silently and then you will know what it is". That's the basis of
good magic, isn't it? Pure effects, if you will. The trick where the
presenter drew a car entailed the audience of poncy Londoners
shutting their fat mouths for 5 seconds too. Impressive.

Did anyone see this by the way:

Old ThunderZeus99 is clearly desperate to read Derren's opinions on
the performance of close up magic. For some odd reason he chose not
to buy the book for a reasonable price when it was readily available
and DB was hawking them to all and sundry. Oh no, not for
ThunderZeus99. ThunderZeus99 thinks the best time to buy is when
it's just sold out so he can pay five times the value. I would like
to see his foolish face when he reads the book to discover that he
can't instantly hold his hand over candles for long periods or speed
seduce women into bed. His £150 would have been better off buying
some gloves... or a high class hooker for the night.
