look at me! I'm stood on a pole. LOOK! I'M STOOD ON A
POLE!!! Interesting, for a bit, maybe; entertaining,
not really. Bit like the 'mime artists' in city
centres who seem to think that getting dressed up and
standing still on a box entitles them to cash. Hang
on; cash? for standing still? erm, no.

derren does.

Strangely, I think this is one of the weakest things
he does, for

that exact reason. Normally his routine is that of a
supposed

ordinary person 'tuning in' to what the rest of us
can't observe. The

emphasis is usually on the people involved in the
effect, not Derren

himself. I find the candle endurance incongruous,
because it's all

about Derren. (Also, if he can do it with his hand,
why not do it

with his face?! Let's up the ante, folks.)

You can probably tell I am not really fond of
endurance fruitcakes

like David Blaine et al. So he stood on a stick for a
weekend (or

whatever!). If David Blaine wants to hang around New
York

impersonating a lollipop, I for one am not watching.
Now if he could

do a cool card trick while he was up there...
