Subject: Leandra - Jo Whiley
This is being talked about in the 3 of Diamonds thread, and I'm sure my
observations have been made much more eloquently elsewhere on this board.
People seem to be focussing on the Leandra, Leanna thing - It may be relevant,
but it is of course possible Derren was being polite and trying to get her name
right.
I've only just heard the show myself, and for me, his technique is pretty
blatant and extremely subtle at the same time. He replaces T sounds with D
sounds. Alphabet is always said Alphabed, letter is always said Ledder.
It's possible Derren knew she had two letters in her mind because of his
question about her name (a misdirection possibly) which was not intended.
That's why he told her to say the one that felt right. As I remember, he never
mentions the letter A (as in Leann-AH), she does.
