I have to say, I haven't seen MC1 yet, so I don't know what trick was going
on, but perhaps that will make my obversations less clouded.

"Let me just take this" - what is he pointing at/indicating towards at this
juncture.
"to offer you the best/rest" - hmm - this wasn't the £10,000 cheque gag by
any chance?

If I'm right, then we have an answer for the recent "why £10,000" - because
stock brokers blow their noses with £50 notes - where's the interest in that?

Jumbling will make your brain re-scan the sentence for information, thus it
will be heard at least twice.
