Bear in mind that he was a bloody good hypnotist and magician before
all of this stuff and that the act begins *before* he arrives on
his "stage". Like in the MC Specials, ".. but there are no magic
tricks". Too late to start believing him! He's halfway into his act!!!

The losing ticket? Why did it not work for the punter, but worked for
Derren? And why was that after he'd given the window a hefty thump? A
good way to hide a 'subtle' signal would be to make it completey UN-
subtle and quite brazen... A hundred and sixty quid 'won' (and then
repaid to the betting office) would be a small price for such a
fantastic effect, wouldn't it?

Having said all of that, I can see that in most cases he is using the
psychological trickery that he claims, and I am not saying that he is
conning us, just that he's good at what he does and, as a magician,
he doesn't have to stick to the rules. They're only HIS rules,
anyway...!!!
