Subject: Pattern interruption

Hi all,

I was just re-reading 'Tranceformations' pp.70-79 and was wondering
if it would be possible to perform an HSI on a person and use
Derren's numbness directions to pseudo-anaesthetise their hand.

What would be the most effective instruction to give immediately
following the HSI?

Would I need to touch the subject's hand again (once I'd let go after
the HSI) to pin-point the area to be numbed?

Would it be easier to simply attempt to numb the subject's entire arm
(since I would be holding the wrist area already, and thus save
letting go and then grabbing again)?

Also, can someone tell me why it is necessary during an HSI to lift
the arm (even slightly)? Can an HSI be performed without such a lift?

Thanks for letting me bore you,

Tim
