Subject: A person view on ...

A study in the techniques, behaviours and language patterns
of...anyone you like

The best way to learn 'derren brown' type tricks.(or anything
really)..is to create YOUR OWN model of what he does....and then TEST
to see if you can get the same kind of results. It does not matter if
DB doesn't 'really' do what you modelled...if you get the same kind
of of results, do you care?

Try and find patterns in his...

1. behaviours - (did you notice he uses double gestures? -pointing
with both hands etc - and i know you know that he uses head nobs and
anchors, right?...)

2 language - (use of key phrases etc, create your own list of
patterns and test them)

3 mental strategies - (rep. systems in nlp...clues via speech
patterns).

You can begin by writing a list of presuppositions. What does DB
presuppose? Then maybe take some patterns you noticed and try them
out. Does this work? Why does he touch the person's arm there? etc

NLP 'techniques' came from modelling. People seem to learn the
techniques now (at high training costs!) and forget the modelling!

How do you model?

There is no one (or right) way, and don't let anyone tell you there
is.(if they do, i bet they are selling you the method next!)

Make it up, explore. I bet you'll learn more by doing a study of DB
(or anyone else for that matter) yourself than by reading any book.
To help you (with some practical information...i will post a message
with some modelling formats that might help you, I don't know.)
