Subject: Thank You and LIVE review!
Okay gang here it is.....
I've been reading the messages and not really contributing up too now
but seeing as how I was at the opening night of Derren LiVe at the
Tobacco Factory I thought I might tease you all with a little review.
Set the scene, the room is small enough to squeeze about 250 tops and
the stage is set in the center with the seating surrounding it in a
horseshoe fashion. The lights are down and the house is almost full,
people are enjoying drinks and there is a buzz of anticipation in the
air. I think I had overheard a journalist say he had cut short a trip
to the USA to be here tonight. The crowd are expecting great things
and boy will they get it.
Just a table and a couple of chairs and an eisel are in view and then
when the lights drop for a moment blackness fills the air. Followed
by an all too familiar voice "Good Evening"
The first half of the show, which lasted altogether for two and a
half hours, is filled with what Derren does best. Predictions and
Manipulations of audiance behaviours with various bluffs of both the
double and the triple variety being coolly calculated by the man of
the moment to ensure he comes up trumps every time, absolutely
infuriating! Yes I will tell you he does the classic coin in the hand
which everyone is dying to catch him out at. Well heres your chance
because the whole audiance does it simultaenously! I took him only
three guesses to eliminate the entire audiance as they sat down as
they were caught out.
Spectators thoughts revealed, spectators reveal innermost thoughts of
other spectators, two spectators are chosen to demonstrate telepathy!
Derren doesnt even know what will be communicated until it has been.
This show is so full of unfathomable mysterys that one barely has a
chance to ask How?
Derren asks us that we not reveal too many details for fear of
spoiling it for others but as for part two....
You've already heard that there is a Ouiji board involved well I wont
tell you how impossible what happens is but believe me if you leave
thinking "this is trickery" then you'll spend decades trying to
figure out how it was done, more likely however is that despite
Derren's continual reassurances that spiritualism is a fraud and
these are simply the same techniques that Psychics use too fool
their 'victims' you will leave questioning and rethinking whether or
not you believe in ghosts and the afterlife.
Tricks they may be but I'm damned if I can see any trickery and let
me tell you I was in the front row! Derren was never more than ten
feet from me for the entire performance. Invisible is not the word
for this compromise.
Again I dont want to spoil it for those of you that are looking
forward to it but wait till you see the ending, this one is a kicker.
I did figure out a couple of secrets however and if anyone cares to
share their insights and discuss some rational explanations for these

And I think Derren might have lost his number one fan due to the
slightly dodgy velvet jacket, very victorian but not the slick Derren
we saw in MC. Also hes alot shorter than I was expecting. What do you
think Emily am I close?
