I totally disagree here, they won't be caught. I bet you if I did it,
I wouldn't be caught. How the hell is someone going to know if I make
a pdf file, share it with a few friends, then distribute it
throughout the web? It's the same with music, but THEY ARE DEFINATELY
bothered, music companies are spending millions on just trying to
track down the 'pirates' when all they are doing is sharing files.

Well, I'm talking about free books that are not supposed to be free.
How many free books have you seen on the net that are not supposed to
be there.

alt.e-books or something ring a bell? There are simply tons out
there. And p2p is just bringing us closer together!
