Subject: Bits and bobs...

I haven't posted for a while but there were a few
things I wanted to add my views on (for what they are
worth!)

I believe that there is very real danger that DB's
presentation (i.e. it's all about non-verbal communication and
suggestion) will cause him difficulties as he becomes more
famous because, as most mentalists realise, this is
nonsense.

Inevitably some tabloid newspaper will come up with a story
which shows that DB doesn't use these "powers" at all
but rather uses mentalism and magic to produce his
exceptionally good effects. I am sure that he tries to make few
positive statements about what it is he is doing but he
has crossed the line on a number of occasions in my
view. Saying, as he did, at the beginning of one of the
MCs that this (a card trick) was the last trick the
viewer would see during the programme was demonstrably
wrong. In addition stating clearly that the stunt in the
British Library was photoreading was also wrong because
it wasn't. Even Paul Scheele the inventor of
photoreading has never suggested that anyone could use
photoreading to do what Derren did in the British
Library.

On one final point (and I suspect that only one of
you will understand it!) I think it is time for
Derren to stop enhancing his reputation by posting
misleading posts on message boards...You don't need to do it
anymore my friend even though it's fun! You do truly
Control Us All...

Hope that was provocative
enough...
