Subject: Derren Brown &NLP
Hello, i decided not to leave. I noticed, I was
just being a bit of prick for the last hundred posts.
Sorry.
I am not going to respond negatively to anymore
posts.
I have also, been listening to Derren's voice
patterns. He does in my opinion use some NLP techniques.
I have read both in NLP and Hypnosis books,
demonstrations of making someone forget their names. Looking at
a person eyes (locking their gaze) when delivering
a suggestion.
"The funniest thing has just
happened" McGill
"This is so weird but" Derren Radio
part2
The above statements in my opinion, overcome the
person's critical judgement. What do you think?
How
do you think Derren guesses the size of an object a
person is thinking about. Does he look at the size of
their pupils when they are focusing?
I suppose
you can't merely use the lip movements to get the
size of the object. Do you think that the size
question is used to get some form of response? Like a nod
that can then be used later.
Do you think that
Derren's pattern interrupts at the betting track were 100%
successful?. It did seem that it was not an idea scenario. He
was about 10 feet from the woman. I don't think it
would be possible to have greater than 50% success.
What do you think?
Remember when he gets the
woman in MC2 to remember his picture with the dogs. He
uses the shock induction when he grabs her head. That
was in my opinion, without a doubt 'hypnosis'. But he
was, in this case, in an idea environment.
I
was surprised they sowed that on TV. Was it bordering
in illegal due to TV broadcasting laws about
Hypnotic induction? A grey area?
I suppose with
our more recent understanding of hypnosis, should
they be banning some TV adverts ?
Cheers,
Gordon
P.S. Sorry I rushed this post, I think
'beyondthemagic' should reply. He may even tell us more about the
cat with the shovel. You never know.
