Subject: Re: Absolute Magic & Devil's Picturebook

I've read a book or two on the subject myself,
and seen Paul McKenna live -very good, by the way.
Can anyone comment on a theory that maybe the 'dead
hand' effect isn't induced as rapidly as we think?
I
can't help thinking they may have edited some out, as
hypnotists aren't allowed to show the process of inducing a
trance on TV (I know we're told the student isn't in a
trance, but he's obviously not in a 'normal' state,
either). It's an effect I could understand better if the
subject was 'under', but not when he's just sitting there
reacting to a few words.

There was a programme
on TV some years ago that went into the whole issue
of hypnosis, magic etc (can't remember the name).
Someone who does 'laying on hands' made the presenter's
arm limp & lifeless by just running both hands down
it. Anyone else recall the show?
