The PK Cigarette
Effect: At a party,
you're sitting next to person who you'd like to know
better. You see a pack of cigarettes on the table and you
ask for one (even if you don't smoke). Placing it on
the table, you gently wave your fingers at the
cigarette. Suddenly, it moves and rolls across the table! of
course the person runs away ! :o)
Here's all you
do:
If you see a pack of cigarettes on the table, ask
for one. When you get it place it on the table in
front of you with the ends of the cigarette facing your
left and right. That is, it should be horizontal to
you.
(Before I go on, I must tell you that the table surface
must be clean. No liquid, no ashes — nothing. You'll
see why.)
Now, gently wave your fingers at the
cigarette. It will begin to move across the table!
Why?
Because, unbeknownst to your audience, you are gently (and
I mean gently!) blowing on the cigarette. You must
do this subtly. The best way I've found is to just
allow your lips to part very slightly. Then, just blow.
(Practice this at home until you can do this with no
movements on your part.)
The motions of your fingers
distract them from your face and the cigarette will fly
across the table.
After it's over, place it into
the pack (or smoke it, if you must).
Never,
ever (ever!) repeat this as they will surely figure it
out the second time around!
