Subject: Something about Mastermind....

I've just noticed something very interesting
about the Mastermind segment on MC3.

When
Derren places the Mastermind game on the table, there
are already pegs in it. The sequence (as the chess
guy sees it) is (First Row->) Yellow, Blue, White,
Green (Second Row->) Orange, EMPTY HOLE, Red,
Blue.

How intriguing that the first colour is
'Yellow'...yet what intrigues me more is the fact that only
seven colours are displayed, when Mastermind utilises
eight different coloured pegs, a fact Derren himself
confirms when he explains the odds of him getting this
right are 8 x 8 x 8 etc.

Whilst I know the
majority of the segment is down to verbal and non-verbal
forces and eye cue reading, I'm not entirely sure that
the first force is entirely down to statistics, or
indeed the second one (Orange, Green, Green,
Yellow).

Anyone with any insights into the deeper
skullduggery that is no doubt afoot here?

Daniel
