I hope you like Pure Effect. The
magic community has been polarised in opinion over the
book - one half think it's the most influential book
on mentalism for years. Others think it's a load of
claptrap. The flowery language and strange wit put a lot of
people off. Odd phrases such as "wheelchair fellatio"
are dotted throughout.
The card routines
contained within it are extremely advanced and require a
high level of technical skill.
It's the same
with the video - you'll get a lot from it if you're a
skilled card worker already but if you are not a magician
it will be a vast waste of £38.
Having said
that, towards the end of the video are some
demonstrations of verbal card forcing which are extraordinarily
good.
