OK, as if this subject hasn't been covered enough
already, I have changed my mind about how Derren
influences on Leanda! Although the_brownbomber (susan) gave
a great argument as to why Leanda would choose a
letter from her own name, but I was thinking that it is
also very possible that she chose the letter D because
of derrens name. Basically because I seem to have
noticed something (4mins, 52secs of
derren_whiley_part4.mp3 available from

http://www-student.lboro.ac.uk/~cosac/alternative/):
Derren says: "i can't "see you", this
would be so much easier if i could "see you"r face at
the moment, but i can "see you"'ve got two letters
there".
The "see you"s would be trying to influence her to
visualise Derren looking at Leanda, Hence the "D" for
Derren (he even asks whether she chose it because it was
the first letter of his name). However, I really
can't tell!!!
And to JH: you said "I
mentioned it because he said he doesn't use hypnosis when
he clearly does." Well, whether derren said he did
or not, he mentioned he USED to have a major
interest in hypnosis, (as well as magic) – in "Pure
Effect" (also pointed out by doolally).
Speaking
of products by derren, thanks for all your interest
in what they are all like! I am a little past half
way in "Pure Effect" – and (as glyncoy points out)
the books and video you can buy from derren are on
his previous major interest – magic. Pure effect –
sometimes derren does go on about how to do a trick, but in
between his descriptions, he does tell of his past
experiences – very interesting. If any of you do get a copy,
Derren is VERY VERY articulate – and I had to keep a
dictionary by me while reading! His writing style is so
good, though, that it makes a really enjoyable
read.
I'll tell you what the other book and video are like
once I have read them, although I am going to wait
till I have finished Pure effect until I do
that.
