WILL' can mean different things to different
people so i am just assuming the following.

The
word 'WILL' seems to indicate 100%
compliance.
Therefore is less likely to be accepted.

'CAN'
Indicates that you have the ability to make the change.
More likely to be accepted.

'AM' indicates a
continuos progress. Which will probably be accepted and
will most likely speed up a recovery.

In Milton
Erickson's Book that I mentioned. He talks about a heart
attack victim (possibly his father ? I cant remember)
who visualised that he would be out of hospital in a
week and that the attack was simply an inconvenience .
And it was so, he was out in a week.
Until the
fourth one, when he said I think this is it. And it was
so.

Milton, when he was once in hospital. Asks the doctor "Am
i going to be OK". The doctor said "We will do our
best". Milton's recovery took longer than he would have
liked, and he put it down to the answer of the Doctor.
If the doctor had said "yeah you will be fine, we do
this all the time" . His subconscious would have
accepted the authority and opinion of the doctor. And his
recovery would have been quicker.

My story above.
Is a bit sketchy, I am afraid. Sorry !!!. Maybe
someone can correct me?

The use of certain words
when spoken to different people. Can mean different
thinks. Someone who strongly believes in there own
ability may respond better if the word 'WILL' was used.

Since 'CAN' may introduce an element of doubt Into that
person.

"Frogs into Princes" by Bandler and Grinder put it a bit
more elegantly. Possibly worth a read if you are into
NLP.

Hope this was not too
boring.

Cheers,
Gordon
