As a new member, I am delighted that Derren Brown
has captured your imaginations. Derren is what is
known as a "Mentalist" or "Mind Controller".
Both of these descriptions is basically a Magician who
does tricks that give the impression that he has NOT
used conjurism, Uri Gellor is probably one of the most
famous mentalists in the world, its just a shame he does
not admit to being one, instead he lets everyone
believe he is truly psychic, for further info see

I have met Derren numerous times and meet with him
and various other "Mentalists" such as David Berglas,
Andy Nyman etc once a year at an annual convention for
people who practice as Mentalists to swap ideas and do
demonstrations, its a bit like the magic circle but without the
props and gimicks etc.
Although I will not give
away any of the secrets I can assure you Gordon that
your description although very interesting is not
correct, I have years of NLP, Hypnosis and Mentalism
experience and I would not do that obsticle course simply by
listening to someones voice! would you? I would hope not
anyway.
Derren is simply one of the Countrys top 3 Mentalists
and it is fantastic that a Mentalist has got a TV
show, and there are to be more programmes to come. I
have uploaded a photo of the Mindcontrol TV crew for
you to see the whole team. And I shall keep you
informed of the repeats as and when they are
available.
All in all a great club, I'm sure it will grow bigger
and bigger.
