- Ashfield, Robert (b Chipstead, Surrey, 1911)
- Ashfield was educated at Tunbridge School and the Royal College of Music. He was Assistant Organist at Westminster Abbey in the 1930s. He was appointed Organist of Southwell Minster in 1946 after serving five years in the army. He left Southwell in 1956 when he moved to Rochester Cathedral where he remained organist until 1977.
