Archer, Malcom (b 1952)
Archer began his formal musical education at the Royal College of Music, after winning a Royal College of Organists scholarship. He then became organ scholar at Jesus College, Cambridge, where he studied the organ with Ralph Downes, Gillian Weir, and Nicholas Kynaston, and composition with Herbert Sumsion and Alan Ridout. He currently studies with Daniel Roth at St. Sulpice in Paris.

He has been Assistant Organist at Norwich Cathedral, Organist and Master of Choristers at Bristol Cathedral where he was also a member of the music staff at Clifton College. He currently holds the post of Organist and Master of the Choristers at Wells Cathedral.

He is also a concert performer, having performed throughout the world, a frequent recording artist, recording regularly for BBC Radio 3, and an examiner for the RCO.
