- Bainton, Edgar (Leslie) (b London, 14 February, 1880 - d Sydney, 8 December, 1956)
- Bainton was taught by Stanford at the Royal College of Music, and he himself taught at the Newcastle upon Tyne Conservatoire between 1901 and 1933 after which he moved to teach at the New South Wales Conservatorium where he became an important musical figure in Sydney.
